The 99% Exhibition has been extended for one more week and will now be on display at MASH Gallery until July 18th! While many are still quarantining at home, the 99% has received a lot of positive feedback both in person and virtually. The 99% Exhibition in Virtual Reality can be found here, and has been visited by people across the United States, Europe, and a few South American countries.
Continuing with this new virtual trend, MASH Gallery will be hosting an event via the video meeting platform, Zoom. The 99% Zoom Event will feature the exhibition’s curator David S. Rubin, who will be interviewing the three artists in the show, Albert Alvarez, Jodi Bonassi, and José Lozano. The event will take place on Saturday, July 11, 2020 from 1-2pm PST.
During this public and live event, David S. Rubin will pose a few questions to the artists, all of which have widely different styles, and influences. The event will also include an introduction by Haleh Mashian, owner and director of MASH Gallery, which will coincide with up close and detailed shots of the artwork exhibited in The 99%. Finally, the floor will be opened up to any viewers of the artist talk and the artists will take questions from anyone who has joined the Zoom event.
There is only so much you can take from visiting an art gallery or viewing an exhibition online. But the opportunity to hear from the artists themselves about why they make their art and the process they take to get to a finished product, comes around only so often. Whether you are in Los Angeles like MASH Gallery, or you’re somewhere in Europe, in South America, or anywhere else in the world, this event is sure to inspire creativity and reignite a spark for the arts that many need in these current days.
