"Liberte est Morte: In this depiction, a visual allegory for lady liberty is represented in a distressful pose. We see her under siege with a barrage of hands tearing up her body. She is a state of paralysis as she lets go of her torch. Under our current political government, I believe we are subject to leadership that is controlled by those they lobby for. Our elections and leaders are financially supported by corporate interests. Like a high-risk investment, these political figures must yield a return for their investors. In depicting liberty under physical distress, I am challenging the blind chauvinism that is associated with being a good citizen in America."
