A narrow shaft of clear glass climbs from a split stainless steel base. Along its length, small hooked brackets project from the column like rungs or notations, each tinted a different color: tangerine near the top, cobalt at the center, pale green and soft yellow below.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThe restraint is deliberate. With most of the column left clear, the glass behaves less like an object and more like a line drawn in space, and the colored brackets become the events along it. The eye moves from one to the next the way it would follow notes on a staff or floors on an elevation drawing.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eA faint gradient runs through the body of the sculpture, from lavender at the top to warm yellow near the base.
