Haleh Mashian’s “Intertwined” presents a dense, layered forest where light and shadow weave together in a rhythmic composition. The monochrome palette enhances the raw textures of the tree trunks, emphasizing their intricate patterns and the organic variations in their surfaces. Vertical lines dominate the space, creating a sense of movement, while the interplay of deep blacks and soft grays adds dimension, pulling the eye through the tangle of forms.

There is a quiet tension in the way the trunks press against one another, their contours bending and merging as if shaped by time and unseen forces. Some appear smooth and worn, while others display rugged edges, reinforcing the natural contrast between permanence and impermanence.
