About the Artwork

Haleh Mashian’s "Femme 2" is a richly layered mixed-media painting that merges abstraction with figuration, presenting the female form as both ethereal and dynamic. The composition pulsates with energy, as color, texture, and movement blend to create a portrait that is as much about transformation as it is about presence. This piece is an evocative reflection on identity—fluid, evolving, and shaped by experience.

The color palette plays a crucial role in communicating themes of femininity and vulnerability. Earthy oranges and reds merge with cool blues and teals, creating a dynamic contrast that heightens the sense of movement. The sweeping brush strokes and textured application make the background feel alive, shifting in response to the figure’s presence. These elements function as remnants of the past, repurposed to build something new—a visual metaphor for growth and reinvention. The tactile nature of the work invites closer inspection, drawing viewers into its intricate details and complex emotional resonance.

"Femme 2" offers a bold yet introspective statement piece for collectors and interior designers alike, which blends expressive abstraction with deeply personal themes. Its layered textures and shifting composition make it an ever-evolving focal point, embodying the beauty of imperfection and transformation. Mashian captures the essence of change, encouraging viewers to embrace the fluidity of identity and the power of reinvention.
