About the Artwork
Oil, acrylic, wedding dress (curtains), and dried flowers on canvas.
"Flower Crowns" explores the oneness of all things and humankind's peculiar penchant for forgetting that. The beings in the painting are contemplating this wider perspective from a vantage point amongst the cut flowers - flowers cut by human hands and passed through many others before making their way to a store, from which they were purchased in exchange for money, and then brought home and clipped and given water and nutrients in a vase, all for visual and olfactory fulfillment. Isn't it funny? We are but a blip existing in the most extraordinary of circumstances.
