Infinity Stripes

Infinity Stripes is the hard-edge counterpart to Puschmann's atmospheric work, and it shows how far her interest in structure will go. Two wide horizontal bands, one saturated orange and one deep pink, cross a square canvas edged by vertical stripes of black, gray, orange and rose. Thin lines of blue and sage run along the meeting points like seams.

The precision here is not mechanical. Every band is graded from light to dark across its length, so the paint appears lit from within and the flat geometry acquires depth. The white rectangles left open at the center do not read as empty canvas but as illuminated space held between the bars.

The painting draws on the artist's training in interior design and her long study of how systems organize themselves, translating that into a composition where nothing is accidental. The stripes suggest an architecture, a woven textile, or a signal, and the work never commits to one reading over the others.

The title supplies the key. Because the bands run off all four edges, the structure implies continuation beyond the canvas, and the square becomes a window onto a pattern that has no stated end.
