Silver Ascent

Silver Ascent is a luminous work in Haleh Mashian's Butterfly Series. It is a painting governed by cool tones and extraordinary subtlety. Against a silver-white impasto ground, many butterfly forms are barely distinguishable from the surface beneath them. The overall register is cool and atmospheric, like light on still water.
