Spire 12 (R)

Spire 12 (R) is the right half of a pair made to stand beside Spire 11 (L). The column is built from interlocking tiles of glass in bright green, teal, crimson and violet, arranged in a dense vertical mosaic that runs from base to tip. Lighter greens concentrate near the top, and deeper reds and purples collect in the middle section.

Where its companion leans cool, Spire 12 carries more warmth. The crimson and violet panels glow against the surrounding greens, so the column reads as foliage with flowers or fruit caught inside it. The tiles overlap at slightly different depths, which gives the surface a shifting, faceted quality as the viewer moves.

Displayed together, the two Spires frame the space between them, and the negative space becomes part of the work. Displayed alone, Spire 12 holds its own as a vertical of concentrated color and light.

The brushed stainless steel base provides a cool, precise foundation for the saturated glass above it.
