Untethered II

Where Untethered I immerses the viewer in turbulence, Untethered II finds stillness at the threshold. The waterline bisects the frame with quiet authority — deep teal below, a warm taupe sky above — and at the precise point of meeting, a single bubble holds its form, fragile and temporary, neither fully submerged nor fully free. It is a image about liminality: the suspended moment before a thing becomes what it is going to be. Bright's camera sits exactly at the boundary, refusing to choose a side. The depth below is unknowable. The sky above offers no drama. Everything of consequence happens at the line between them.
