Yves Bright
Yves Bright is a Los Angeles-based photographer working across editorial, commercial, lifestyle, and fine art imagery. His practice is rooted in a simple conviction: that a single image, precisely observed, can hold an entire story.
Bright came to photography through performance. Spending years in front of the camera as an actor and model, he developed an intuitive understanding of presence, timing, and the charged space between subject and lens. It was on location in Puerto Rico — shooting a feature film — that he first turned the camera around. Captivated by the island's landscape, he began documenting everything around him: the set, the light, the quiet moments between takes. The experience was decisive. He returned to Los Angeles as a photographer.
Since then, his client roster has grown to span fashion designers, skincare and cosmetic brands, actors, musicians, athletes, and authors. He works closely with art directors and publicists to create images that don't simply represent a brand, but deepen it — photographs that earn their place in both print and digital contexts.
His personal work draws from a daily ritual that precedes almost everything else. Most mornings begin before dawn, at the ocean, surfing at sunrise. For Bright, the water is not incidental to the work — it is foundational. The stillness it produces, the clarity it demands, shapes the eye he brings to every shoot. The image above is evidence of that relationship: a world divided at the waterline, two registers of light held in precise, transient balance.
