Born in Cancún, Mexico, José María Fernández Ugalde grew up surrounded by creativity, with music playing a central role in his early life. He began painting at the age of five, using art as a way to explore the world around him and express what words couldn’t capture.
Now living in Beverly Hills, California, José María continues to draw inspiration from his roots, as well as the places he’s painted across Mexico. His work is deeply connected to the themes of consciousness, inner transformation, and spiritual exploration. Influenced by both ancient wisdom and modern philosophy, his paintings use symbolism and layered abstraction to reflect the unseen the energy.
For José María, painting is more than a practice, it’s a form of meditation, and a way to connect with the divine.
