Odysseus Krum
Biography
Odysseus Krum, born in 1951 in Bulgaria, is an interdisciplinary artist, designer, and architect known for his innovative approach to art. After earning top honors from the National Academy of Art in Sofia, he received a BFA in Architecture and an MFA in Painting and Graphic Design. In 1978, he won the Grand Prix of Bulgaria and actively participated in exhibitions and human rights competitions throughout the 1970s.
In 1985, Krum emigrated to Germany, where he found success in the European Interior Design Industry alongside his wife, Irene. They earned recognition as top designers throughout the 1990s, leading to the publication of Iren & Krum ā Interior Textile (1993). During this time, Krum developed his unique style, Of Art, blending textile design with painting to create layered, conceptual works.
Exhibited across Europe, his art often tackles themes of social isolation and human experience through installations, paintings, and multimedia projects. His recent work, Humans and the Billiard Circumstances of Life, continues this exploration. Krumās work resides in museums and private collections throughout the USA, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Italy, and Bulgaria.
