Marble powder & Resin
“Venus” is a striking reinterpretation of the timeless feminine form, where geometric abstraction replaces classical curves, infusing the sculpture with strength, elegance, and modernity. Constructed from resin and marble powder, the elongated figure is defined by sharp angles, intersecting planes, and sculptural fluidity, appearing as if frozen in motion.
Drawing inspiration from the Venus de Milo and other iconic representations of femininity, the artist introduces a fractured, faceted aesthetic that bridges tradition with contemporary abstraction. The partially obscured head, fragmented yet poised, suggests both presence and mystery, reinforcing the dual themes of emergence and dissolution.
The sculpture’s stark white surface contrasts dramatically against a dark backdrop, emphasizing its monumental, ethereal presence. Light interacts with the sharp edges and smooth planes, casting dynamic shadows that shift with the viewer’s perspective, further enhancing the piece’s sense of movement and transformation.
Far beyond a mere figurative study, “Venus” challenges the conventional ideals of beauty, strength, and identity. The abstraction of form invites viewers to engage with the piece beyond the physical, contemplating the evolution of femininity, resilience, and artistic tradition.
