Exhibition Overview

MASH Gallery presents “Radiant Spectrum” art exhibit curated by art publisher and designer Mark Murphy.

“Radiant Spectrum establishes color as a central character, and presents an eclectic variety of modern expressions created specifically for this salon-inspired installation.”

— Mark Murphy

Radiant Spectrum is a vibrant art exhibition celebrating color by 16 contemporary artists showcasing painting, drawing, sculpture and mixed media installation. Curated by publisher and designer, Mark Murphy, who shares, “Radiant Spectrum establishes color as a central character, and presents an eclectic variety of modern expressions created specifically for this salon-inspired installation.” Attendees of Radiant Spectrum at Mash Gallery will find themselves immersed into a world composed of avant-garde forms and narratives complimenting art brut and contemporary notions, while recognizing Abstract Expressionism, Cubism, and Surrealism points of inspiration. Art collectors and aficionados will be presented with traditional and non-traditional gallery installations working together to present sculptural forms, pinned works and framed presentations.

Los Angeles artist, Christian Clayton presents ten new mixed media constructions, “Emotion,” comprised of a series of textures, patterns, and color fields that all harmonize into expressive portraits. San Diego artist and former biologist, Kelsey Brookes exhibits “Untitled Molecular Study,” a new miniature painting in preparation of a larger body of molecular paintings.

Mark Murphy, owner of Murphy Design, has curated thematic art exhibitions celebrating contemporary and narrative traditions since 1998. Mark Murphy has worked with hundreds of artists of our time including: Trenton Doyle Hancock, EMIT exhibition at Ringling Museum, Dialogue, the Fine Art of Conversation at the Santa Monica Museum of Art, In the Land of Retinal Delights at the Laguna Art Museum, and Behind Photographs by Tim Mantoani at the Museum of Contemporary Art, La Jolla, just to name a few.
