Surface Spectrum features artists who love to include texture in their work and are versed in painting, sculpture, mixed media, and installation. Artists will showcase different contemporary art styles including Gestural Painting, Textile Arts, Art Brut, Land-Art, and Abstraction.
Featured Surface Spectrum artists include Scott Albrecht (Brooklyn, NY), Vanessa Barragao (Porto, Portugal), Susan Carr (Cape Cod, Massachusetts), Ty Nathan Clark (Waco, Texas), Chris DeKnikker (Denver, Colorado), Stephen D’Onofrio (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), Richard Downs (Sacramento, California), Stefan Heyer (Hamburg, Germany), Haleh Mashian (Santa Monica, California), Jaybo Monk (Berlin, Germany), John Monn (Los Angeles, California), and Fran O’Neill (Brooklyn, New York).
Curator Mark Murphy shares, “Surface Spectrum features a multi-disciplined approach to contemporary art featuring fluid brush strokes, dimensional adornments, sculptural treatments, textiles, and a mix of all of the fore mentioned.” Surface Spectrum is the companion exhibition to Radiant Spectrum held earlier this year at Mash Gallery.
