Last Saturday evening, we MASH Gallery in West Hollywood were filled with energy as art lovers, collectors, and curious visitors gathered for the opening reception of Rhythmic Contours — a bold contemporary group exhibition that launched the gallery’s year with rhythmic form, vivid abstract, and expressive line.
From 7–10 PM the gallery’s endearing space became a vibrant forum for the celebration. Attendees were welcomed by works from Zack Smithey, Salvatore Matteo, Itaewon and more — pieces that trace the invisible rhythms connecting body, landscape, and memory.

What made the evening especially memorable was how the show translates the simplest artistic element — the line — into something alive and expressive. Across painting, sculpture, and mixed media, lines bend, repeat, and interlock to create fields of tension and harmony. The effect is immersive: visitors found themselves moving through visual landscapes shaped as much by space and light as by form.
A Celebration of Movement and Community
More than just a display of works, the opening felt like a community gathering. In the heart of Los Angeles, guests circulated through the gallery, admired the exhibition’s emphasis on rhythm — both formal and emotional — and gave the evening a sense of freedom that connected viewers to each other as well as to the art.

Mash Gallery’s Haleh Mashian stated — “Feeling truly grateful to create a space where beauty and creativity and feel so much love and support from attendees. I’m so excited to continue sharing this exhibition with everyone”
